“It was a day I had looked forward to for the
last year...the day we left from our home headed
to the destination of a lifetime...Destin,
Florida. I'd earned a week of total relaxation

My wife, family and I stayed in
Room 206 from June 29th til July 5th. Our family is special. My oldest 2 children, Sean, 16, and Cody, 14, have a genetic disorder called MPS. Needless to say; finances are tight, we have many medical bills. As a result,
vacations are few and far between. But, they have been through so much, we decided we had to do SOMETHING this summer to get away. We booked the trip back in April, I think, and probably 4 or 5 times a week, we would look at the website and long for the day that our vacation started.
Finally, we left on the 28th from our home here in Missouri. Originally, we weren't supposed to arrive til the 29th, but as we drove farther, the kids just wanted to keep going and going and
going. We decided to call and see if there was any way we could check in a day early. When my wife called and Pam said the room was available, I'm pretty sure you could hear the cheer from our minivan all the way back here in Missouri. From the time we turned onto Gulf Shore Drive and pulled into the parking lot, it felt like we were home. The condo was a perfect size for our family. It was very clean and well appointed. But, when we walked out onto the patio and saw our view, it took our breath away. We all walked out onto the balcony together and hugged for an eternity. Then, almost in unison, we screamed, "Last one in is a rotten egg"!
We had the best week ever. The weather was gorgeous, the beaches were amazing and the water just incredible. And when we got tired of fighting the waves, we could go up to the beautiful pool, grab a chair and lay back and relax. Our boys as well as our daughter and niece couldn't wipe the smiles off their faces all week. We went parasailing, rode go karts and ate like kings all week. We just really had the best time of our lives. We all just wanted to thank you so much for providing us with this special time for our family. I don't know when, but, I can guarantee you, we will be back again someday.

The Islander is the perfect place to stay while in Destin. Everyone that worked at the condo and everyone who stayed there were very friendly and ready to answer any questions we had about the condo or the city. We were able to find the hotspots that only locals knew about as well as the tourist favorites. The beach was never overcrowded or too thin, which gives the option to sit and read a book or meet with new people every day. Plus, there were dolphins that swam by almost daily which made this section of the beach even more exciting. The unit itself was very clean and offered everything you need to complement your stay in Destin. Unit 413 was by far the best value in terms of the way it was decorated and the bonuses such as the TVs, surround system, and free daily beach setup. Any return trips to Destin will definitely be to 413!
Thanks again for giving us the opportunity to stay in your unit! We had a great time.
