The Islander is a seven-story condominium located in Destin, Florida on the northern most point of beach on Holiday Isle. Our condominium was built in the early 1980s. The resort went through a $3.5 million renovation in 2010 to include new, bigger master bedroom windows, walkway tile, property railings, signage, light up Islander sign on center tower and property lighting. The Islander also updated the parking lot with islands and security gates at the front entrance. Since then, The Islander has replaced the sliding glass doors, front doors with keyless entry as well as the kitchen and guest bedroom windows. A fresh coat of paint was put on the building in December 2017 and January 2018.

Envision driving down Gulf Shore Drive admiring the road lined with palms drawing you into your tropical vacation. Once you arrive at the gates of the Islander; press the gate call button or use your Islander app code to enter our private property. On your left is the Gulf View East building which every unit besides our first floor will give you a captivating view of the Islanders piece of jewel, our Emerald waters of the Gulf of Mexico and fluffy white sand. The ground floor units offer straight access to our pool area and the pathway to the beach. On your right is our Jetty/Harbor West View building which offers magnificent sunset views and partial Gulf views. Florida has the most breathtaking summer sunsets with colors of pink, orange, and majestic purples. Watch all the fun in Destins Harbor with parasailing, jet skis, boating tours, and the pirate ship for the Goonie lovers as well as in the distance, you can see the boardwalk on Okaloosa Island. On Thursday nights in the summer season you will be lured to watch the fireworks show from your balcony, Beach or grounds (ask the front desk if your unit on the west can view them from the balcony) some units will have restricted views.

The Islander units are all 2 bedroom and 2 full bathrooms. Your Master Bedroom will be equipped with a King bed, Master bathroom has a tub/shower combo unless it is a Gold or Platinum unit (read unit description) as most of these high rated units have been updated with walk-in showers. The Guest Bedroom provides 2 twin beds, bunk beds and/or Full, Queen or even another King bed. The Guest bathroom provides a tub/shower combo. All units will have a fully equipped Kitchen with everything you will need to prepare, cook, bake, eat and serve with. We provide the initial set-up of paper products to include 1 roll of paper towels and 2 rolls of toilet paper per bathroom, you will need to provide your own after this is depleted. We provide 2 packets of dishwashing powder, but not dish soap. The closest stores to The Islander are Target or Winn Dixie about a mile up the street. The living room will have seating for 6, TV with cable and DVD player (read description for units with game system/stereo). Your Master Bedroom, Livingroom and Dining Area will give a view of the gulf or pool. The dining room will have enough seating for 6 guests.

The Islander has 2 pools and 2 hot tubs with umbrellas to lay out poolside. Each pool area has bathrooms and an outdoor shower to rinse off after a refreshing dip or the sand from the Beach. Your private Beach access is located on the East side, just follow the walkway around the east pool; the yellow Key West sign is pointing your way. Use the key card at the gate that is given to the guests by the front desk at check-in. Once you have made it to the top of the walk over take a minute to memorize the Gulf; it is truly beautiful. The beach service attendant is available daily from 9-5. Your stay (of 14 days or less, March – October) will come with 2 chairs & umbrella complimentary set up for you, every day of your Islander stay. We have towel exchange 2 days a week (inquire @ front desk). Coin operated laundry machines on site on the second floor. The Islander has 2 elevators and stairways inside and along the outside of each building. The garbage chutes are located on each level of the outer building staircases. Our units are not considered handicap accessible; however, we do have wheelchair access into and out of building, pool lifts on east/west pool, walk in showers in some units, and an ADA compliant beach walk over.

You must be 25 years of age or older to Book your Reservation and have proof when checking-in at The Islander Condominium.

Cancellation

Cancellation notice is required 45 days or more prior to arrival date for daily and weekly rentals. A $75 processing fee will be applied to your account and the balance refunded. Long-term/seasonal reservations, which are stays 28 days or longer, must cancel by September 1st or 120 days prior to arrival.

*** Cancellations less than 45 days and greater than 30 days prior to your arrival date are subject to loss of full deposit.***

*** Cancellations greater than 45 days prior to your arrival date are subject to $75 administration fee***

It is strongly encouraged that all guests purchase Travel Protection Insurance. The Islander does not give refunds for sickness, man-made and/or technological disasters.

Changes to Reservation

Changes made to your reservation more than 30 days prior to arrival may be subject to a $50 change fee charged for each change made to the reservation and charged to the credit card you provided at deposit. If you upgrade to a more expensive unit, season, or length of stay, this fee may be waived at Management’s discretion. ***Changes to your reservation, other than extending your stay, are not permitted less than 45 days prior to your arrival start date. *** Cancellations made within 24 hours of making the initial reservation will be fully refunded.
