Islander Condo #117 is a West View, Platinum Unit that sleeps up to 6 people. This unit is perfect if you want to be near the pool and do not want to fight the stairs or elevator. It is 50 feet away from the pool and the balcony steps on to grass. Step into our tropical paradise conveniently located for quick and easy access to the beach or your choice of two pools.
The kitchen is recently renovated with an open bar, custom cabinets, granite countertops, stainless steel appliances including a Keurig, and is fully equipped with all the tools to meet your cooking needs. Gather around the dining room table that seats 6 or relax in the living area with new furniture to watch the 42” TV with digital cable access and a DVD player. There is a queen sleeper sofa available for guests.
The master bedroom has a king bed with new, modern bedding, and a 24" TV. The bathroom has updated vanity with double sinks, countertops, and a walk-in shower. The guest bedroom boasts 2 twin sized beds with modern furnishings and a 24”TV with DVD plyer. The guest bathroom has been updated with a new vanity and countertops.

Spent a fantastic long weekend at this property in June of 2020. The unit has clearly been recently updated. It was clean, furniture was comfortable and stylish, kitchen was updated and stocked with all of the necessary supplies. TVs in each room. Loved the first floor location with quick access to pools, grills, other amenities and a manageable walk to the beach. Appreciated the complimentary beach service! Would definitely return to this unit again.

We love staying at the Islander. This is our 6th year in a row to be guest here. We always try to get Unit 118 or 117 or at least one on the ground because our grandchildren can run and play in the spacious yard plus the west pool is just "right there". Unit 117 was clean and not a disappointment in decor. Very comfortable. Hope to be able to stay here for many years.

I did like this place and my wife and I had a great time there. When we visit next time though we may drive instead of flying to save money as the room was basically a condo with no groceries and we couldn't take the fish we caught home after our deep sea fishing trip. Overall I would recommend this location and I hope they did not take any damage from the recent hurricane that hit just east of them.

Everything about our stay was amazing. We stayed in unit 117 and I loved it so much I wanted to buy all the same furniture and decor in it! We were more than impressed with the cleanliness, the stocked kitchen (pots, pans, etc), and the beach! I highly recommend staying at the Islander and I know this will be where I stay again!

2nd time staying at the islander. unit was in good shape. every morning we had to pick up cigarette butts in the grass behind our back patio. i assume they came from units above us. pool on the west side was never open for 0800 as per policy. usually the maintenance folks opened it around 0930. we had a run in with the beach chair boy, we erected a very small beach tent, he demanded we take it down, private beach he said. i refused, he called the sheriff dept. deputy explained that he could not make us take it down, however the islander could...if it was their policy. i took it down, did not want any trouble. apparently this private beach is a big deal in florida, there is the 20' rule (wet sand) and the erosion line, too much to get into. the city and county do not enforce the private beach rules. did goto the front desk, no manager on duty, megan. anyway, we will not stay at the islander again, probably will not goto destin, the people were just a bit rude around town.

Check in time is supposed to be 3:00. I understand there is a clause in the contract to allow them extra time due to their "high standards for cleanliness". However, the unit we stayed in had not been rented out in the days prior to our arrival. So we really should have been able to check in early. In fact, we had to wait for them to complete a last minute rush job of cleaning (as if they had completely forgotten about it). Also, the unit had no broom and a check out time of 10:00 AM is ridiculous. Even hotels let you stay until 11. Other than that the unit was nicely furnished and appointed (tho without a W/D), and we enjoyed our stay despite the aggravations outlined above.

Check in is guaranteed between the hours of 3 and 5. While units are empty, our team works diligently to make any necessary repairs and/or touch ups needed. We do offer a guarantee early check in for a small fee. Hotels offer a later check out because the have the ability to change rooms around. We are a condo resort and are not able to do so. There is a nice, air conditioned laundry facility on the second floor for your convenience and we do offer a linen exchange 3 days a week. Happy to know you still enjoyed your stay.

We have stayed here before and love the location and the resort. We had a couple of complaints which I did let the lady at the desk know during our stay and upon check out. There appeared to be blood stains on the couch among other stains. The sliding glass door would not lock. The bed frames need to be tightened and they are not connected to the frames. In this particular condo the livingroom furniture needs to be replaced.

The Staff was good. The condo smelt like cigarettes. There were stains on chairs and couch and fridge made noise and I made a list and gave it to housekeeper. I was disappointed. There was no view but of a pavillion. Condo furniture needs cleaned and could be nicer for the price of rental.

Everything about my stay was wonderful however I did not stay in the condo of the picture that was provided. The condo I stayed in,number 318, was much nicer then the one in the picture. I had stainless steal appliances and new furniture. The picture I saw must be 10 years old

1st time "snow bird" experience for the month of Feb. The unit had lots of deficiencies that needed attention. We completed a survey on the unit provided by Islander Management detailing the issues.
