Wonderful location and spent lots of time at the beach. Unit was not up to par with the furniture or having stuff fixed. Open a drawer and it fell out along with wobbly towel racks. Fixed it right away but racks were still wobbly. Used the sprayer in the kitchen and wasn’t attached. Looks like it needs deep cleaning. We were in this unit a couple of years ago and washer still had buttons pushed in so touchy to turn on. A plus is the view of the gulf. Can’t beat it. Some great amenities and then some not so much

Unit 507 is an excellent choice at the Islander. It has a great view of the beach and the gulf. Everything was in working order and is stocked extremely well. We had a minor problem and the staff was eager to help. We would go back again. Plus, the weather was excellent for December!

Frost stay at the Islander! 2022-07-18

Location and the view from our room was wonderful.
The elevator was very bumpy and scary kept thinking we would get stuck.
When we arrived in our room it was not clean, there were empty water bottles and dirt under the beds. Made us question the cleanliness and sanitation procedures of the resort. Also during the stay the common areas were very dirty. Elevator floor had black blobs on them.
The room we booked said it included premium chair service, we found out that that meant you must be on the beach at 6 am stand in line until 7 ish to get a chair.. this was very counter productive for a vacation.
We did have a great time and enjoyed the beach and the pristine emerald green water. The sand was beautiful and cold on our bare feet.
Maybe we expected more for the price but maybe not cleanliness and sanitation should be a priority!

We love staying at The Islander- first time to stay in unit with washer and dryer. Unit 507 had everything we needed and great beach views. We had two great weeks and hope to return next year. Alan was great with the umbrellas and chairs as always !The pool seemed to have more sand than normal. We thought the faculty did not allow pets but this year saw 2 families with dogs - specifically saw a dog on leash being led out of a room. Just puzzled over that...didn’t know the rules had changed.

We had smokers on the floor below us, and it took days for the smoking to stop. Hopefully next year we won't have such a thing as we never had this issue before. The beds are still the same, they are very hard for us so we bring mattress toppers so we can sleep comfortably. It would be nice if the thermostat would go below 68 as well; as the bedroom seems so much warmer than the living area. But we choose to book again for next year all the same. Location, location, location.

Unit 507 was clean and in good repair. The location is close to everything restaurants, shopping and the beach. The property is well maintained and the staff are friendly. I would have given our stay five stars, but the bed was very hard. This was our second stay and we plan on a third.

Heaven on Earth 2021-08-28

The location was fabulous! The view was better than the pictures and the gulf water clarity was so clear it was like you were in a swimming pool. The unit had every thing we needed and very clean. We had fun playing shuffleboard and the on-site staff was very pleasant. Our only disappointment was that the tennis courts were closed and unusable. My son hoped to get some tennis in before high school tournaments started.

Everything was just as I expected it-always a pleasure. I would suggest you put some sort of bar in the master shower instead of on the outside. Also if there is no damage to suite the damage deposit should be refunded-at least partially. Other than that we definitely will be back!

We have been staying at the Islander for the past10 yes. Always a pleasant experience. This is the first time we had somewhat of an uncomfortable bed. Other than that very happy with the condo. The staff was very helpful.

We have been going to the Islander for summer vacation since our daughter was around 7 or 8 years old. She is now 25 and married, and we still go to the Islander for summer vacations. The Islander has always provided excellent service to us and holds a special place in our hearts for great memories. The unit we stayed in for our most recent stay was a great one. It had been updated with remodeling and decorating. It was very nice. The scenery from our balcony was absolutely beautiful, especially when you first wake up in the morning. What a sight to wake up to! The unit was very clean. The bathroom in the master was roomy and so nice. Having a washer and dryer made our stay even better. Everyone at the front desk has always been both friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend this unit and and condo to a friend or relative. When we needed a little break from the sand and sun, we hopped in the car, and there was plenty of shopping and nice restaurants waiting for us. The Mexican restaurant near the condo was fabulous along with Whole Market. Also, you can't go to Destin without getting Bruster's ice cream. It's the best we've ever had. Also, walking along the beach in the evening was one of our favorite "end of the day" retreats. We were very pleased with our stay and were sad to leave. However, we will be back. Thanks for another awesome time at The Islander.

Our stay in Unit 507 2017-08-01

Our rental experience was subpar. There were issues in the unit that was not totally satisfactory for a family of six. The master shower faucet was broken all week and was unavailable for use. After two calls to the front desk and a visit there no one was aware of the issue. The outlets in the guest bedroom alongside the back wall didn't work. The unit was also not very clean when we arrived.
