Very nice unit. Furniture was updated and kitchen had everything we needed. The view is blocked looking straight out but can see the jetties to the right and the beach if you look out to the left. The trip was a quick plan so I was happy to get such a nice unit on short notice.

Best First Stay in Destin 2022-04-25

We stayed in this condo with our 2 year old and it couldn’t have been a better experience! The room was beautifully decorated and clean. The front desk was very helpful and always available and accommodating. We even extended our stay by 1 day and made it very easy. With 2 pools and beach access it couldn’t have been better! The views were beautiful as the condo faced west and we got sunsets! We loved it!

You can't beat The Islander in Destin for convenience, relaxation, and price. We came back for the first time since the pandemic and It's still a great place to unwind. Everything is maintained and the staff are friendly, can't wait to get back there again!

It was an awesome experience. We have never been to Destin before. Everyone was very helpful and friendly.
The only thing which was a great thing was my daughter and son-in-law got down there and had to turn around and leave. He was needing a kidney transplant and an hour before they arrived they got the call that there was a kidney waiting for him. They left and drove all night to Vanderbilt Hospital in Nashville, TN. This was the best news, giving all thanks to God. This is by far the best vacation ever.

The unit was in great condition, with a nice view and helpful staff. They had various activities for kids. They also provide a beach umbrella and 2 chairs with additional available for rental. The pools and hot tubs were cleaned daily. We had a great time.

Overall We were pleased with our rental. You will not be disappointed with this rental. The location is close enough to several things but I recommend renting a car. We loved that the beach chairs were included. The condo was spacious and clean. Adding brighter touches, better skillets and sharper knives would be a plus. The staff was helpful and nice. We would stay here again.

The condo is spotless and very comfortable. It had everything we needed. The kitchen is fully stocked and beds are extremely comfortable. We opened the master window at night to hear the waves crashing. The views from the balcony are to die for. The Islander staff is top notch and took great care of us! The location is perfect!

The unit is in need of paint. The entrance has a spot where the door punched the wall and was patched.
The sink in the master bath was somewhat clogged. The exhaust fan in the master bath that is very loud.

Very impressed with the unit and complex. Recently updated, clean, and had everything we needed. Loved the convenience of the pool and beach being so close. My husband and I were able to go to beach early and then when ourteemage girls got going they could come later. Felt very safe here as well.

Over the past 30 years we’ve stayed at the Islander at least 20 times. The west view has magnificent sunsets. No extra charge for an umbrella and two chairs. Very quiet and rates are especially reasonable during non-peak times. Always dolphins to watch at the jetties. Try La Paz for Mexican food, Donut Hole for key lime pie, and The Back Porch for casual beach front dining.

This trip was planned less than a month prior to our stay. It was such a great price, family and friends thought I had been scammed. When we arrived, I was overwhelmingly surprised by how clean, comfortable, and up-to-date the unit was. The furniture was nice and VERY comfortable, especially the beds. I will definitely check The Islander FIRST for availability on our next spontaneous trip!

Condo 610 2017-10-25

WE stayed in Condo #610 which was very tastefully decorated and clean.There were a few issues we had concerning our stay.

THe worse one was the fact that when we signed up to rent this particular condo it had two single beds in the spare bedroom which is why we chose this condo. My two sisters and my husband and myself were going to Destin for my daughters wedding. When we arrived Thursday afternoon we were so disappointed to see it was now a queen size bed. That wasn't really the problem that is was queen size because my one siser was not able to go. THe problem is the new bed is so high a normal size person can barely get into it. My other sister who is handicap and 77 but tall was able to maneuver herself into it gradually. But once she was in she didn't dare get out during the night. It was unreal how high this bed is. I have never seen one so high. I tried to get into it and I could not.

There were a couple other issues. One was that there was no alarm clocks in either bedroom Luckily we had smart phones with the alarm on it. Several lamps did not have bulbs in. THere was only 3 hangers in each closet. THe closet doors were hanging there in both rooms. THey were not on the track.

Outside of those things the condo was very nice and homey

Family trip 2017-09-03

This was our first time booking a condo and I must say the process was amazing!! After looking at several condos to rent the Islander unit 610 seemed to fit our needs best. We're a family of 5 (3 girls, ages 15, 11 & 5) and wanted more space than what a hotel could provide. I must say...if we visit Destin again, we'll definitely stay in this rental! Check in was a breeze, super simple. The staff were all amazing, the unit was clean and comfortable, the pools were warm, such a short distance to the beach, beautiful view of the sunset, I mean I could go on and on about wonderful this place was! Out only complaint was that the carpet was old and very worn. we just wore our flip flops and house shoes all day... Apart from that It was also super close to every thing! if you're looking for a condo that won't break the bank, updated and professional staff staying at the Islander is a MUST! Unit 610 is my fav and I'd definitely recommend it to anyone visiting Destin with children.

We have stayed at the Islander 3 years in a row for our Summer beach trip in August. We stayed in Unit 702 the first 2 years & this past year we stayed in 610, due to 702 not being available for the entire length of our desired stay. We have thoroughly enjoyed our experiences over the years & plan on continuing to stay there each year. It's a wonderful place for families & the condos are kept up to date/maintained very nicely. We especially enjoy staying somewhere that feels so homey & where we can cook our own meals so that we don't have to eat out at restaurants for the entire trip. We've never had a bad experience at the Islander.
