We have been staying at the Islander for over 30 years generally in the fall time period. We love the place or we would not keep coming each year. We like the facility and have always had a excellent week stay.
Stayed in various units over the years and each one has always been nicely decorated, clean and the view is perfect.

For a “platinum” unit, we felt this rental was a little dated.

We went with some of their friends and their kids they were 2 doors down from us, we had great views and just short walk to the beach, kids loved the pools as well. Everything was clean and great!

Short Get Away 2021-11-16

It was my cousin and I , she lost her husband last month to covid , which was also my cousin, so we were both needing a small get away. Water was to cold, but we enjoyed the nice walk on the beach, great memories.

We always love staying at the Islander. We have stayed in 706 many times and it is probably our favorite view. All of the staff were helpful and the Islander is located in an area that is so relaxing and away from all of the other heavy traffic. We will keep coming back as often as we can.

Property bedding was not as presented. Was not two king sized beds, but one king and one double! Bedding was not new but old and worn. Property was not two master bedrooms but one king master and one double with shared common bath. Property needs description updated to reflect accurately.

Overall a nice location. Pool was clean & well kept. Grounds were beautiful. Beach was clear of seaweed/debris and overall nice. Only downside is that it’s a bit of a walk from the units to the beach.

Unit 706 great view, not bad, but not up to islanderplatinum std. 2021-07-23

We've stayed in several different units at the Islander over the years, but only stayed 1 night here. The unit has an awesome view. It was clean and we'll kept. There has been some upgrades, granite countertops, celling fans and USB outlets on each side of the bed. The unit felt old because of the basic white stove/fridge. The dark wood doors, baseboard and bathroom cabinets looked like original from the 1982, a coat of white paint would have helped a lot.

Restful experience 2019-10-28

We have been coming to the Islander since the early '90's. Have never stayed anywhere else in Destin. Once we found this perfect spot, we have really never even looked for another place. We have stayed in many different units on different floors, but this was our 2nd visit to Unit 706. We like being on the top floor. The view is wonderful. We don't even get in the water, but we sure enjoy looking at it! Unit 706 has been updated and has a lovely walk-in shower in the master bedroom. It is probably not far from another update or two, but is still a very nice unit. We always enjoy our stay at the Islander, and plan on visiting again.

Great vacation destination 2019-09-29

We had a great time at the Islander. It is in a great location away from some of the larger resorts. Unit 706 was exactly as described and had plenty of room for all of us. Kitchen could use a few more items but overall it was wonderful. All the staff were kind and very helpful. We came just after Labor Day so it was not very busy. I would imagine everything would be quite crowded during the busy season. It was so nice having dedicated beach chairs included. It was a little frustrating that people were able to claim chairs up front first thing in the morning and then not even come to the beach until well into the afternoon. If you are going to claim beach chairs you should have to be at the actual beach. Overall, it was a wonderful vacation!

Have been going to the Islander for 25+ years. Love the Gulf View condos. Was not happy with the renovation mess (could not sit on our balcony for 1 1/2 days of our stay), and was only informed of this the Friday before our Sunday arrival.

Yes we love staying at the Islander resort. This was our 3rd yr . The staff is great. I do want to give a huge shout out for an employee who worked afternoons and nights, Melissa. She was great. Always greeted us every time we came in or left and was very nice. She always went over and beyond expectations of making sure we were satisfied. I do wish yall had actual recliners in the rooms as my dad has alot of health issues and fell out of the chair trying to get up. I also wish yall would allow smoking on your patios as long as all doors were shut. we would go down to our vehicle to smoke. Or at least have a closer smoking area. We hope to see you again next year. Overall we love this place.
